THEN LIFE MADE THE QUESTION IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE.
My oldest brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at 43. Healthy. Successful. Newly married.
Six months later, he died.
My father had always told us we were born under lucky stars. Nothing bad happened to our family. And then one of the worst things imaginable did. I watched that belief expire in real time.
Death has a way of stripping the unnecessary from a question. Tomorrow wasn’t guaranteed. So what exactly was I waiting for?
Something else happened during those six months. I had a knowing I couldn’t explain. My relationship with my brother wasn’t ending.
My brain had plenty of explanations for why I might feel that way. Grief. Shock. Denial.
But it didn’t feel like any of those things.
It felt like knowing.
Through my brother, I had met a woman whose work involved receiving information beyond what could be known through the five senses. So I finally asked her: Is this something you’re born with? Or can someone learn it?
I expected the first answer. She gave me the second. And then told me her training program began in a month.
That was the beginning.
I THOUGHT I WAS FOLLOWING A CURIOSITY.I WAS ACTUALLY MEETING MYSELF.
I held vigil with my brother as he died. It was devastating. It was also one of the most profound and beautiful experiences of my life. Both things can be true.
Being with someone at that threshold changed what I understood about life, death and what we are beyond this physical experience.
A month after he died, I began training. I still had my corporate career. Still had four children. Still taught graduate students. And now I was spending hours developing intuitive perception, energetic awareness and other healing and transformational modalities.
I approached it the same way I approached everything. I trained. And trained. And trained.
Then something happened that my analytical mind hadn’t planned for.
It worked.
I began knowing things about people I had no ordinary way of knowing. Receiving information. Sensing what was happening underneath the story someone was telling me. Experiencing connection that extended beyond what I had previously believed was possible.
And I discovered two things.
First, when I was doing this work, I felt connected to something larger than myself in a way I never had before.
Second, I watched what happened to people receiving channeling through me. They left clearer. Lighter. Hopeful. Different.
I had spent most of my life learning how to be impressive. This felt nothing like being impressive.
It felt like being useful in the way I was actually made to be useful.
FOR A WHILE, I TRIED TO KEEP THE WORLDS SEPARATE.
Corporate leader over here. This new awareness over there. Except life doesn’t respect the compartments we create for it.
The intuitive part of me started walking into meetings too. Someone would speak and I would know there was something underneath the words. I’d sense the energy of a project before the spreadsheet confirmed it. I’d feel when something was aligned and when it wasn’t.
And the more I trusted that information, the harder it became to ignore the places where my own life wasn’t aligned. The signal was getting louder.
Eventually, I had to confront something I absolutely did not want to confront: I had become too aware of myself to continue betraying myself.
That is when the life that looked so good began to feel like suffocation. Not because the company was bad. Not because the people were bad. Not because I had chosen the wrong career. Because I had changed.
Continuing to live as the woman I had been required me to abandon the woman I was becoming.
So I left. Not with a perfect five-year plan. With a knowing.
And once I stopped overriding myself in one area, the rest of my life came under examination too. The home. The pace. The identities. The beliefs. Eventually, my marriage.
Because once you begin looking behind the veil in one area of your life, it gets very difficult to only see the façade everywhere else.
I DIDN’T BURN MY LIFE DOWN.I STOPPED ABANDONING MYSELF INSIDE OF IT.
This matters because I see a lot of transformational work presented as an escape hatch. Quit the job. Leave the marriage. Move somewhere beautiful. Start over.
Sometimes those things are right. Sometimes they’re another attempt to solve an internal problem by rearranging the external world.
I don’t believe waking up to yourself requires you to destroy everything you’ve built. I believe it asks you to become honest enough to discover what still belongs.
And what doesn’t.
Today, many parts of me would be completely recognizable to the woman who sat in those executive meetings. I’m still analytical. Strategic. Ambitious. A creator. A mother. A woman who loves big ideas and knows how to make things real.
I didn’t have to become less powerful to become more intuitive. I didn’t have to become less intelligent to trust what I know. I didn’t have to reject everything I had learned in order to access something beyond it.
I needed all of myself back.
I SPENT TWENTY YEARS BUILDING ENVIRONMENTS.NOW I’M INTERESTED IN THE ONE YOU’RE BUILDING YOUR LIFE FROM.
Real estate taught me something long before I understood the larger meaning of it: Space shapes us. The environments we inhabit affect how we think, feel, connect and create.
I used to think primarily about physical environments. Buildings. Workplaces. Communities. Places people would live and gather.
Now I’m equally interested in the environment inside you. The beliefs you live inside. The identities you’ve constructed. The expectations you’ve absorbed. The nervous system patterns that decide what feels safe. The old stories quietly influencing what you choose, tolerate, pursue, and avoid.
Because every business, marriage, relationship, decision, and life you create grows from there.
Change the place you’re creating from… and what becomes possible changes too.
UNDERSTANDING IS NOT ALWAYS RELEASE.
This is where my work is different. You may already understand why you are the way you are.
You know the childhood story. The relationship pattern. The perfectionism. The people-pleasing. The need to achieve. The need to control. The reason you became the person everyone can depend on.
You can explain it beautifully.
And it may still be running your life.
Insight matters. But sometimes the thing you’re trying to change is no longer living only in the part of you that can explain it.
It’s in your body. Your energy. Your automatic reactions. Your relationships. The identity you’ve practiced for decades.
You can understand the pattern and still be living inside it.
That is often where our work begins.
OUR WORK CAN MOVE BETWEEN THE UNSEEN AND THE VERY, VERY REAL.
I may sense what’s underneath what you’re saying before you’ve named it. We may work with energetic patterns, intuition, the inner child, the body, grief, relationships, beliefs, higher guidance, or information that comes through in our work together. And then we bring your brilliant analytical mind back into the conversation.
What does this mean for your marriage? Your leadership? Your business? Your body? Your boundaries? Your choices? Your actual Tuesday morning?
I am not interested in spiritual insight that can’t survive contact with real life. The work has to land somewhere. It has to change something.
And I am not here to become another authority you hand your power to.
The opposite.
This work is about returning you to your own.
I hold the frequency. I receive what you’re carrying without flinching. I name what I see. I call attention to blind spots that are almost impossible to see from inside your own life.
Sometimes I know the terrain before you can see the road.
I can be the rope through the fog.
But I will never drag you across.
You walk.
That part matters.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE INSIGHT FINALLY MOVES?
They know the story. They understand the pattern.
Some have spent years in excellent therapy. They can tell you exactly where the perfectionism came from. Why they over-function. Why they stay. Why they control. Why they became the person everyone else depends on.
Understanding isn’t the problem.
One client described our work as “the most collaborative, intuitive, building and releasing process” and told me: “Every 10 sessions feels like 10 years of therapy.”
Not because therapy failed her. It didn’t. It gave her enormous insight. But insight and release are not always the same thing.
I have watched clients begin making different decisions after years of understanding why they couldn’t. I have watched someone stop organizing her life around being responsible for everyone else. I have watched creative energy come back online after years spent almost entirely in service, achievement and survival. I have watched entrepreneurs bring the intuitive and strategic parts of themselves back together instead of believing they have to choose one. I have watched a woman begin building work that finally felt like hers.
Relationships shift. Boundaries become clearer. The body softens. The creating starts again.
Sometimes the external life changes dramatically. Sometimes very little changes at first.
But the person creating it does.
And when the place you are creating from changes, what you create next can change too.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT BURNING DOWN THE CAGE.IT’S ABOUT REALIZING YOU’RE HOLDING THE KEY.
You may stay married. You may not. You may leave your company. You may become more powerful inside it than you’ve ever been. You may change everything.
You may discover that many of the external pieces were right all along. They were simply being lived from the wrong place.
Not knowing is where possibility lives. The work is becoming a person who can stand in it and ask:
What do I actually want? What do I know? What have I been pretending not to know? What am I tolerating because changing it would require me to change too?
What would my life look like if I stopped choosing from fear?
Those are very different questions from: How do I get through this?
